Sripada B.B. Vishnu Maharaja answers a question on whether there is any necessity to read books apart from the books of Srila Prabhupada's. He says that although there is everything in Srila Prabhupada's books to make us Krishna Consciousness, still the books are passive, whereas the Vaishnava is the embodiment of devotional truths. Whereas he cautions on venturing into the greater Vaishnava world without guidance, he stresses the importance of higher vaishnava association to learn proper discrimination, to better understand the philosophy and its application. Sripada Maharaja punctuates his answer with his own life experiences on how Srila B.G. Narasingha Maharaja, Srila B.R. Sridhara Maharaja, and Srila B.P. Puri Maharaja inspired him on his devotional journey.
